Timothy "Tim" Hooker

Timothy "Tim" Hooker, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in the loving embrace of his family on August 12, 2026, following a brief illness. Born on April 3, 1962, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Tim was the cherished son of Dennis O. and Verla M. Hooker, who predeceased him, along with his youngest daughter, Katie M. Hooker. Tim spent his early years in Indianapolis, where he nurtured a love for the outdoors and developed his characteristic "can-do" attitude. He married his high school sweetheart, Laura D. Hooker, on September 20, 1980, in their hometown, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love and devotion, raising four wonderful children. Tim's career began in Mississippi, where he worked in maintenance with M.S. Carriers, focusing on semi trucks. His dedication and hard work soon saw him promoted to manage a new company location in Columbus, Ohio. Later, he transitioned to a successful career in sales with Fyda Freightliner in Columbus, where his natural talent for closing a deal and his genuine care for his clients shone through. A member of the Mount Sterling Masonic Lodge No. 269, Tim was known for his generosity and willingness to help others. He was a devout Catholic, whose faith guided him throughout his life. His love for his family was paramount, and he took immense pride in protecting and nurturing them. Tim was an avid outdoorsman, who found joy in hunting and fishing. His stories of adventures with friends and family, whether casting a line on a serene lake or trekking through the woods, were legendary. He possessed a remarkable ability to build and repair anything, a skill that served him well in both his personal and professional life. Tim's passion for football was infectious; he was a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Chicago Bears, attending games whenever he could. His enthusiasm for the sport was matched only by the joy he found in spending time with his grandchildren: Dillon, Rose, Ben, Kaeleigh, Colton, Esther, James, Tanner, Sunee, and Oliver. Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Laura Hooker; his children, Benjamin (Vicky) Hooker, Victoria (Bryan Fields) Hooker, and Dennis (Kachelle Hodge) Hooker; and his treasured grandchildren. His legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him. In keeping with Tim's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Tim's memory may do so by contributing to a charity of their choice. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Tim's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
