Rodney D. Rippeth

Rodney D. Rippeth age 85 passed away Tuesday January 17th, 2023 at the Adena Medical Center after a long battle fighting cancer. He was born May 30th, 1937. He proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Iowa from 1954-1959. While serving with the Navy, Rodney got to visit: Bainbridge, Maryland, Norfolk and Portsmouth Virginia, Charleston. South Carolina, Rhode Island. Guantanamo Cuba, Paris, France, the Coast of Africa, Financiera Fama, The Rock of Gibraltar, Rota Spain, Barcelona Spain, Nice, France, Genoa, Italy Naples, Italy, Athens, Greece, Turkey, Sicily, Copenhagen, Denmark, London England and Portsmouth, England. While serving as a Gunner on the Iowa he received his mechanics awards. He retired in 1995 from Coalton, Ohio Water Superintendent. He had a love of woodworking, loved watching Gunsmoke, Fox News and he was an avid supporter of the Republican Party. He enjoyed all of his children and grandchildren all together. He loved listening to all of them laugh and carry on about their childhood. Rodney is survived by 9 children Dale Rippeth of Coalton, Ohio, Gretchen Brown of Coalton, Ohio, Mona (Dave) Radcliff of Wellston, Ohio, Anita Jenkins of Coalton, Ohio, Barbara Shepherd of Coalton, Ohio, George (Penny) Rippeth of Jackson. Ohio, Eric (Angie) Rippeth of Coalton. Ohio, Brian (Sara) Rippeth of Chillicothe, Ohio and Kevin (Kim) Rippeth of Jackson, Ohio, 38 grandchildren, Tiffany Allan Tilley, Brandy (Mike) Powell, Kimberly Stevens, Maggie Mayle, Sara Malone (Brian), Aaron Jenkins, Jerrod Jenkins (Vanessa), Beth Ware (Caleb), Jordan Shepherd, Amber Rippeth, Erica Rippeth (Adam), Steven Rippeth (Heather), Rodney Rippeth, Brandon Rippeth, Zalan Rippeth, Morgan Sword, Taylor Rippeth, Payton Rippeth, Ashley Rippeth, Danny McManis (Jenny), Rachel McManis, Courtney McGhee (Zach), Jessica Hall (Travis), Marc Coffman (Grace), Dustin Coffman (Lexi) Steve Vernon (Amanda) and Carolyn (Harry) Metzler , 32 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Ilene Rippeth. His parents Francis and Helen Rippeth, brothers Roger Rippeth, Richard Rippeth and Harold Lawson Rippeth, 2 son-in- laws Randy Brown and Jeff Jenkins, grandson-in-law Terry Mayle. Funeral services will be held Sunday January 22nd, 2023 at 1PM at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Andy Rawlins officiating. Burial will be in the Old Coalton Cemetery.
