Kevin "Red" Reeves

Kevin "Red" Reeves, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home on the early morning of October 13, 2023 at the age of 58. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Hobart Reeves and Hazel Reeves. He is predeceased by his brothers James Reeves, David Reeves, and Rocky Reeves; and sister, Geraldine Hayden. He is survived by his wife, Bernadette Howell-Reeves; his children, Stephanie Perry, Melissa Sheaves, Aimee Schoenvogel, April Bower, Jonathan Reeves, Christina Neuburger, Valerie May, and Brittany Huot; his brothers, Joseph Reeves and Kenneth Reeves; his sisters, Judith Bisson, Peggy Elkin, and Norma Bryant; and his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Kevin was a passionate and skilled mason and construction laborer, and was deeply faithful. He took tremendous pride in his children and grandchildren, whom he loved unconditionally. He relished in love for the last twenty years accompanied by his soulmate, Bernadette Howell-Reeves. Kevin was an avid storyteller. He loved to share memories of him and his twin-brother, Kenneth Reeves, being rambunctious and pranking others in their youth. Kenny was Kevin's other half and they shared an unmatched bond. They loved playing cards together. Kevin was a jokester with a contagious laugh, and loved being the source of entertainment in any setting. He was fond of friendly competitions with loved ones over a game of cornhole or horseshoe at family outings, and also enjoyed playing ping-pong and bowling. He enjoyed fishing with his spouse, grandchildren, and nephew, Andrew Reeves, and mushroom hunting with his brother-in-law, David Clarkson. He also enjoyed bonding over football with his sons-in-law, Shannon Neuburger and Paul "Will" May. He'd often pass the time listening to old country music and reminiscing about simpler times. Kevin will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all of whom he shared fond memories with. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday, October 21st, 2023 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating, burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 11-1PM. As the family prepares for a celebration of life to honor the memory of Kevin Reeves, memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio.
