Beatrice Imogene Riegel

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Beatrice I. Riegel who peacefully left us November 11, 2025 at the age of 100. Bea was born on October 11, 1925 in Jackson, Ohio to Clifford and Nellie Ballard. She lived a full and vibrant life, marked by her kindness, humbleness, warmth, gentleness, and unwavering love for her family. Bea was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. After meeting her future husband, Bob, in high school, they married in October of 1946 after Bob returned from serving in WWII. They moved to Columbus, Ohio where Bea spent 42 fulfilling years as an accountant and office manager at Bob Daniels Buick in Columbus, Ohio where she was admired for her professionalism and commitment. Bea was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Riegel, with whom she shared nearly 50 joyful years. She is survived by her son, Scott, and, at almost 80 years old, became a cherished grandmother to her two granddaughters, Marina and Katrina who, in their younger years, spent countless sleepovers hosted by their grandmother at her home. Her family meant the world to her, and she found extraordinary joy in the time she spent with them. Though small in stature, Bea had a heart that was larger than life and she poured that love into her family offering guidance, wisdom, and unconditional support through the years. She never denied the call for help with anything pertaining to her family as she always put them before herself. Bea radiated a warmth and hospitality which made anyone who visited feel as though they were part of the family too. For the last 10 years, Bea called the Bluebird Retirement Community her home. There, she forged meaningful friendships and enjoyed a peaceful and fulfilling chapter of her life. Known for her positive spirit, she was a favorite among both residents and staff. Bea will be remembered for her wit, smile, kindness, and later her spunk and ability to convey what she liked and didn’t like. We are truly thankful and grateful for the incredible staff at the Bluebird Retirement Community for not only the exceptional care, but also the friendship, patience, respect, and love which made Bea feel truly at home. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson with Pastor Seth Fallon officiating.
