Richard R. Smith

March 12, 1940 - December 19, 2021

Richard R. Smith, age 81 of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Jenkins Community Care in Wellston.  He was born March 12, 1940 to the late Russell R. Smith and Zona Burtenshaw Smith.   Richard, or Dick as he was known on a construction site, was passionate about his work, serving as a supervisor for AJ Stockmeister, Inc and Geiger Brothers, Inc for his entire career.   Richard is survived by his loving wife of nearly 57 years, Brenda Bolen Smith. He is also survived by his siblings BoDine (Gary) Rader of Jackson, Berneta Fout of Beaver, Ohio, Brenda (Fred) Richards of Newark, Ohio. Bernadine (Larry) Conkle of Ruston, Louisiana, Rodney Smith of Jackson, Sidney (Linda) Smith of Jackson, Beverly Griffiths of Jackson, and Rick (Jan) Smith of Jackson.   He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, brothers-in-law Raymond Fout Jr. and Dan Griffiths, and sister-in-law Pam Smith.   At Richard’s request, no formal funeral services will be held.
