Richard A. Shupe, age 84 passed away at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday April 23, 2017. He was born on June 20, 1932 in Genoa, Ohio to Albert and Susie (Gall) Shupe. He is survived by his wife: Rhea Shupe (63 years), daughters: Debra (Ed) Rohowetz of St. Louis, MO; Joni (David) Landwehr of Alexandria, KY; son-in-law: Keith Wilson of Jackson, OH; grandchildren: Bryan (Nancy) Wilson, Cincinnati, OH; Bradley (Kelli) Wilson, Jackson, OH; Lauren (Drew) Fleck, South Bend, IN; Sarah Landwehr, Highland Heights, KY; Michael Landwehr, Alexandria, KY; step-grandchildren: Luke Rohowetz, Panama Beach, FL; Landon Rohowetz, Kansas City, MO; Katie Rohowetz, St. Louis, MO; two great grandchildren: James Wilson, Cincinnati, OH and Liam Fleck, South Bend, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Susie (Gall) Shupe and his daughter Carole Wilson of Jackson, OH. He graduated from Clay Genoa High School in 1950, attended Bowling Green University for one year. He then joined the U.S. Navy for four years. He married Rhea Schumacher on April 23, 1954 at St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Genoa, Ohio. He was currently a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Ohio. Richard was a life member of Clarence Nieman American Legion in Woodville, OH, The Grand Lodge of F.& A.M. Of OH and the Trowel Lodge No. 0132 F. & A.M. Jackson, OH. He was a former member of the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Club and Jackson Lion's Club both in Jackson, OH. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday April 27, 2017 with Masonic services at 2:00PM by Trowel Lodge 132 F.&A.M of Jackson. Funeral services will be held immediately following the Masonic services at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. James Shuman officiating. Burial will follow service at Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson, OH, with Military Graveside honors by the Jackson DAV Chapter 45.
