Raymond "Ray" Haslett Steele

June 1, 1941 - December 6, 2021

Raymond “Ray” Haslett Steele, 81 of Coalton passed away peacefully Monday, December 6, 2021.  He was born June 1, 1940 in Coalton, Ohio to the late George H. and Olive H. Frisby Steele. He is survived by his children and grandchildren: Roger Dean Steele and Kinda Sue Brown; Donald Tyson Conger; Jensia Rae Steele; and Kaylee Skye Cardwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister, Juanita, and his brothers: Rodney and Roger Steele. Raymond was a graduate the Coalton High School Class of 1958 and served honorably in the United States Navy.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, horseman, and carpenter.  Family and friends he was very close to were his good friend, Donna Enderle; his niece, Tina Steele (deceased 2008); his nephew, Harley “Jimmy” Steele; his dear friends: Tom Lykins; Lanny Perry Dave and Jamie Pendry; Donna Gray; Annabelle Brown; Ben Sowards; and Ronnie Manning.  The family is especially grateful to Raymond’s cousin, Jennifer Ousley Pittman for her selfless care of Raymond over the past year.   Family will receive friends from 4-6PM Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home.  Military graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Raymond's favorite charity, St Jude’s Childrens Hospital.
