Nancy Lee Anderson

October 6, 1947 - March 6, 2022

Nancy L. Anderson, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on March 6, 2022, at the age of 74 and went home to be with her Lord. Nancy was born October 6, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio to the late James E. and Hazel (Nelson) Reed formerly of Ray, Ohio. Nancy was a 1965 graduate of Jackson High School and worked for General Electric and General Mills from which she retired. After retirement she was a caretaker for her mother until her passing. Nancy loved her grandchildren, her dogs Wags and Beanie, reading, word finds, and gardening and especially loved growing roses. Nancy is survived by her brother Howard Reed of Gretna, Louisiana; sister Brenda (Matt) Waulk of Gallipolis; Granddaughters Alisha Robinson of Columbus, Anna Pridemore of Fort Gay, West Virginia, Mallory Anderson of Jackson, Harley Hughes of Chillicothe, Lakia Chenoweth of Chillicothe; great grandchildren Zella Peters, Carter and TJ Pridemore; sister-in-law Sharon Reed of Waverly, brother-in-law Gary Hammond of Jackson, nephew Chase Swain, close friend Sylvia Powell, and numerous other nephews, nieces, cousins, ex-in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three sons; Willard III, Jeffery, and Ryan Anderson; her brothers; Jimmy and Clyde Reed, sister Kathy Hammond, sister-in-law Chris Reed and her best friend Carol Woodruff Daniels. After high school graduation, Nancy married and took custody of her two youngest siblings, putting family before her own personal life. She had three children whom she loved more than life. She believed in the Lord and made it a point to take her children to church so they too could be believers. Nancy was a kind and giving person who helped those in need by donating her time, money or whatever she could to help. Nancy was a former member of Savageville Methodist Church where she taught Sunday and Vacation Bible School classes. She was an advisor for the Woodsy Owls 4H club and was very creative and loved doing craft projects. She loved cooking, gardening, the outdoors, morel mushroom hunting (once she knew what they looked like again), horseback riding and loved reading. She loved animals of all kinds, especially her dogs Will-He-Wag (Wags) and Beanie. A Celebration of Life will be held at Mayhew/Brown Funeral Home on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 3 to 6 pm with the funeral service from 6 to7 pm. Private graveside services will be held at the family’s request. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.mayhew-brownfuneralhome.com
