Gary L. Spriggs Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gary L. Spriggs, age 57 of Jackson, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Oak Hill, Ohio on September 29, 1962 to the late Edison V. Spriggs and Nora S. (Blevins) Spriggs who survives. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dorothea T. Spriggs; and brother, David Spriggs. Gary is survived by his wife Anita L. (Warren) Spriggs; children: Neill G. (Kala) Spriggs and Whitney E. Spriggs; grandchildren: Brylee S. Spriggs and Bronson O. Spriggs; brothers: Michael Spriggs and Charley Blevins; and sisters, Lillie Snyder and Genevieve West. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Gary had lived in Jackson his entire life. He was a faithful member of High Praise Ministries Jackson, Ohio where he poured his life into the lives of the children in the Sunday School Program. He was an avid bowler, loved watching sports – especially the Raiders, Reds, and Lakers. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was employed as an activity therapist with the State of Ohio, Department of Corrections. Funeral services will be held: on Tuesday, April 7th, 2020 at 11A at the Fairmont Cemetery in Jackson, OH. Those wishing to pay their respects to Gary Spriggs and his family should arrive at the graveside ceremony by 11A on Tuesday morning with Pastor Travis G. Potts of High Praise Ministries of Jackson, Ohio officiating. A special Celebration of Life service will be held for Gary Spriggs at High Praise Ministries at another scheduled date and time as directed by the ministry. Visitation: There will be public visitation at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral home on Monday, April 6th, 2020 from 4P-8P. Per the Ohio Department of Health and the Jackson County Health Department, during the public visitation, visitors may pay their respects, as one family unit at a time, while maintaining no physical contact and proper social distancing guidelines, which the flow of the visitation will be directed by the Mayhew-Brown staff.
