Charles Edward Brown, beloved husband, father, grandpa, great- grandpa and brother, passed away unexpectedly on February 7, 2022, at age 65, in Jackson. Charlie was a kind-hearted man who would do anything for anyone. In his youth, he traveled the world with the U.S. Marine Corps. He drove a tractor-trailer for nearly 40 years and enjoyed the outdoors, riding motorcycles, and tending to his plants. He was a family man through and through and would do anything to make his grand kids smile. He is survived by his wife, Joy Brown of Jackson; daughters Marie Brown of Chillicothe and Sherri (Allen) Coleman of Jackson; son Charles W. (Amanda Sperry) Brown of Zaleski; stepdaughters Stephanie (Randy) Dupree of Wellston and Laura (Michael) Adams of Jackson; grandchildren Micca, Leah, Hailey, Jacob, Jenna, Tyler, Ryan, Kyndle, Maya, Ian, Molly, Benjamin, and Max; great-granddaughter Violet; sister Kay (Turley) Cooper of Oak Hill; brothers Steve (Carla) Brown of Oak Hill, Evan (Debbie) Brown of Oak Hill; Danny (Carole) Brown of Wellston; John Brown of Oak Hill; Bob (Donna) Brown of Oak Hill; brothers-in-laws: Jeff (Carol) Gray of Jackson, Charles (Penny) Gray of Jackson, and Paul Gray of Jackson and Dennis Brunton of Jackson; sisters-in-laws: Kathy (Terry) Powell of Jackson, Rose (Jeff) McComas of Vinton, and Emily Paul of Coalton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Mary “Kate” Brown; father-in-law Clarence Gray; grandchildren Jessie, Ellen, and Bryce Coleman; sister Linda Brunton; brothers-in-law Jerry Gray, Sr., James Gray, and Elmer Paul; nieces Mary Brown and Ashley Brown; nephews Michael Brown and Austin Blevins; and first wife Barbara Brown. Calling hours will be Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson, with funeral services to immediately follow with Rev. Dan Brown officiating.
