Reva Sue "Susie" Triplett

Reva Sue “Susie” Triplett, 79, of Ray, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at the Holzer Hospital in Jackson, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 29, 1946 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Fanny (Lykins) Triplett and Chester Triplett. As the youngest sibling in her family by 16 years, Susie grew up playing alongside her nieces and nephews. She and her parents spent a brief time in Miami, Florida, where she earned a cosmetology license and worked as a manicurist. She had a great interest in history and genealogies. She volunteered with the Salt Creek Valley Festival for many years and did extensive research into the history of the Richmond Dale area. She worked with the family businesses at both Trippies Restaurant and Trippies Wholesale and later worked at J.M. Barbee Enterprises. Susie most loved to be around people. She was playful and ornery, and extremely generous and caring. Although she had no children of her own, she called many, many people her “kids” and cared for them whether they were related by blood or related by love. She is survived by her sister-in-law Arlene Triplett (Murlin) and her nieces and nephews Robert (Kaye) Triplett of Columbus, OH, Richard Triplett of Cape Coral, FL, Janet Barbee (Michael) of Ray, OH, Edward Triplett (Patricia) of Tucson, AZ, Judith Cook (Mike) of Orlando, FL, Kenneth (Pamela) Triplett of Ray, OH, and Pamela (Randy) Young. She is also survived by dear friends Ronda (Ty) Vickers and their son Tyson, who Susie called her adopted grandson, and Joyce Barbee (Mack). Susie has numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews: all her dearly loved kids. Besides her parents, Susie is preceded in death by her siblings Woodford Triplett, Cecil Triplett, Murlin Triplett and Maxine Lawery, and her nephews Wesley Triplett and Steven Lawery. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Jackson Holzer Hospital for their compassionate care during Susie’s last days. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
