Michael Joseph Shrewsbury

Michael “Mykel” Joseph Shrewsbury, 40 of Chillicothe, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the Sion Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio. He was born February 14, 1983 in Columbus, Ohio to Rebecca Sickles Dray and the late Michael Shannon Shrewsbury. Mykel loved being a father. He loved being a husband, son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend as well. He loved all of his titles, but his favorite title was "dad". Mykel loved his family, above all else. His kind, loving, and gentle nature was evident to all who knew him. That was the heart of who he was. Mykel loved his camping adventures with his mom and immediate family. He always valued this time and looked forward to it every year. He also enjoyed bowling (even if he wasn't very good at it), but he always had fun with it anyway. He loved Batman (though his wife really wanted him to like Superman more). LeeAnn often called Mikey her "Superman". Mykel was an avid crafter. He loved to make things. He would get crazy excited to show you his projects and tell you his plans. He would get so excited and talk so fast, you'd feel like you yourself need to pause and take a breather! He had quite the collection of jewels, and gems, and, rocks, and crystals. He could tell you all the facts about each and every one of them. He was a collector of swords, daggers, and knives as well. In his younger years, Mykel was secretly a Backstreet Boys fan. Only it wasn't a secret, because Mykel was ALWAYS singing it. So eventually, he was openly a fan, but mainly because everyone already knew anyway. There was no shame in his Backstreet Boys game. Mykel spent his very last day earth side making memories with his boy, Ian and some other members of his family. Memories they will cherish forever. Eating way too much pizza at Golden Corral (because Myke was the kind of guy to hit up a buffet and fill up on their pizza). And getting his butt handed to him in bowling by his younger brother. He bowled a ridiculously bad game (considering he was playing on the bumper lane), but still managed to score much higher than his little sister (who was also bowling on the bumper lane). Mykel fought hard these last few months and earned every moment he got to spend with us. He is always dearly loved and will be deeply missed. He lives on in each of us. He is survived by his wife: LeeAnn Milburn Shrewsbury, mother: Rebecca Sickles (Jeff) Dray sons: Ian Rittenhouse, Billy DeLeon JR. and Decan DeLeon, brother: Shannon (Misty Johnson) Shrewsbury, sister: Cassie (Quentin) Linton, grandparents: Joseph and Mary Jane Sickles, brother-in-law: Johnny (Tracy) Milburn, sister-in-law: Melissa (Aaron ) Ross, mother and father-in-law: Darlene Collins and Paul Milburn, Nieces and nephews: John, Christopher and Destiny Shortridge, Jayden and Elena Shrewsbury, Skyeler Strong, Brent and Randy Akers, Tristan Ross, Taylor Milburn, Wesson Akers and Caroline Downing as well as more aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and son: Keon Hill. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor David Collins officiating with burial to follow in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery.
