Matthew R Napper

Matthew Napper of Jackson Ohio passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 2:38 a.m. in Griffin, Georgia after extended health issues leaving at us at the very young age of 43. Matthew was born to the late Phyllis Simpson Napper and Raymond Napper May 29, 1980 at Riverside Hospital Columbus Ohio. He was a graduate of Oak Hill High School and also of Buckeye Hills Career Center. Matthew is survived by longtime girlfriend Amanda Moore of Griffin, Georgia, his Aunt and second mother: Rebecca and husband Harold (Butch) Eblin of Chillicothe, Ohio, Erin (Michael), Emma and Allison Schmitt of Logan, Ohio. Jennifer (Brandon) Englehart of Logan, Ohio, Keith (Lillith) Honchul of Athens, Ohio, 1/2 brother: Allen (Sherri) Coleman as well as many cousins and family members with a list too long to mention. Matthew was preceded in death by his parents Phyllis and Raymond Napper, his aunt: Barbara Brown, and his grandparents: Walter and Marie Simpson of Jackson. Matthew learned welding at Buckeye Hills and eventually became a truck driver and drove for many years until his health would no long allow it. Matt was a father and an avid Ohio State fan, he loved animals (he leaves behind a cat and two dogs). Matt did his very best to live his life to the fullest while he was alive, he was lighthearted, kind and never really meeting a stranger. If you knew Matt you would have a friend for life. Matthew loved his family unconditionally during good and bad times. He always wanted to make others laugh, which was always hilarious because it usually had something to do with his own real life antics. Matt loved his little cousins Emma and Allison, always making sure that during their phone calls or Face Times he was harassing and teasing them making them laugh. Matthew had a very giving spirit, putting his own health aside to make the trip to Ohio to give 24 hour care to his Aunt Becky. He was there for her before and after surgery and she will always be very grateful. All Matthew ever wanted was to be home with his family. Honoring Matthews wishes, we have brought him home to Ohio. Matthew will be cremated with his ashes being distributed to his family. Services and viewing for Matthew will be held on September 7th from 2-3 p.m. at Mayhew Brown funeral home Jackson, Ohio.
