Mary Anne Green

MaryAnne Nalder Green, beloved wife, mother, mama, sister, aunt, friend, but never a stranger passed away unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family on December 10, 2021. MaryAnne was born on November 4, 1956, to Wally and Doris Nalder in Ogden, UT. Our Mama grew up in Layton, UT, the sixth of eight children. Coming from a large family, she had to make and find her own way, and that she did and did it well. She was one of a kind, unique in every way; a very special soul. A Scorpio through and through. Our Mama attended Layton High, class of 1975, where she was involved with student council and very admired by her peers. She was a left-handed third baseman (often letting everyone know what an amazing player she was), a Sterling Scholar for Business, and lover of synchronized swimming, in fact, she taught everyone who swam with her. Mama and Papa were married October 14, 1976, in Layton, Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They met at a young age, while working at Winegars grocery store. They spent 45 loving years together. Mama and Papa are two very different people but that is why they worked so well together. Our Mama was a passionate, driven, and hardworking woman. After high school, she attended Weber State College. MaryAnne began her interest in computers while working for the Davis County School district. While living in Missouri, she focused on raising her children and helping guide other children through teachingteenagers Seminary and subbing in local schools. While in Ohio, she worked at Nationwide Insurance for many years. Later in life she taught Medical Office at Buckeye Hills Adult Career Center. She was proud of her various careers and truly loved helping people better themselves. She was very dedicated to her church, serving in various roles. She taught her children young, by example, the true meaning of service. She continued serving as they got older by being very involved in Kiwanis and the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. Mama made a huge impact on all the people she taught, served, and loved. Mama had many talents and gifts. Mostly noted as an artist, crafter, chef, avid gardener, and computer whiz. Our Mama would often be found painting and sketching birds, flowers, and trees, often sharingher pieces with others. Our Mama adored her family and was extremely proud of her children and her honorable grandchildren. They were her ultimate joy in life, she loved them dearly, and always made each one of them feel extremely special. She enjoyed doing crafts, games and cooking with them. She hardly missed an opportunity to support them in all their extra-curricular activities. Mama will never be forgotten but forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She is survived by her loving husband, Shane, of 45 years; along with their three children, Mechel Green; Melisa (Chad) Reynolds; Curtis (Miranda) Green; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild who adore her, Helena Stacy, Kamille and Abram Reynolds; Carlee (ChaseBurdine) and Madi Lewis, Mallory, Caitlyn, Damon and Lily Green,and Taysom Burdine; sisters Karla (Neil) Thornley, Kathy Mouritsen, Jacquie (Carl) LaCasce, Judy (Les) Prall, Nancy (Stan) Seely, Kaylyn (Scott) Beck; brother Kenley (Karen) Nalder; mother and father-in-law, Madge and Les Green; sister-in-law Julie Green, brother-in-law Monte (Annette) Green; along with her nieces and nephews; as well as her extended family and an abundance of special friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Dick Mouritsen. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday December 15, 2021 from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm with the funeral immediately following at Mayhew Brown Funeral Home. A private burial and grave dedication will be held Thursday December 16, 2021 for family and close friends.
