Fannie Marie Bregant

Fannie Marie Bregant, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024 at the Holzer Assisted Living in Jackson, Ohio where she most recently made her home. Fannie was born on May 16, 1929 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky to the late John Marvin Rice and Gladys Conley Rice Green. Fannie spent most of her adult life in Rootstown and Ravenna, Ohio. She obtained a real estate license and became a real estate agent in the Kent, Ohio and Portage County area working for Wilbur Realty. She was recognized and received several prestigious awards in the real estate business and she was a member of several civic organizations while in the Ravenna area. When Fannie semi-retired, she moved to Jackson,Ohio and joined the Appalachia Realty Agency. Here, she continued to pursue her love of real estate sales until her retirement. Fannie was known for her knowledge and love for finding the right home for her clients. Fannie attended the "Grace Methodist Church" in Jackson and the "Living Water Worship Center" in Albany, Ohio. Fannie loved her family dearly and always set the examples of hard work, perseverance and kindness. She was affectionately known to many as "Aunt Fannie" and her radiant smile was contagious. Fannie is survived by sons: Gary (Charlotte) Haney, Dennis (Helen) Haney, David (Sandy) Peck and Zane (Kim) Bregant. She was preceded in death by infant son Everett Haney and son Michael Bregant. Also surviving is brother Paul (Candee) Green, sisters: Mary Anne Whaley, Sue (Paul) House, and Vicki (Jim) Stewart, sister-in-law: Marilyn Green, daughter-in-law: Lorenna Bregant and stepdaughter: Sheila Bregant. Fannie was preceded in death by stepfather: Dudley Green Sr., brothers: George Green, Bert Green, Robert Rice, Dudley Green Jr., L.J. Green, Danny Green, and Bill Green, sisters: Thelma Jean Rice, Patty Jo Green, Nettie Summers, Martha Litteral, Della Chapman, Sandi Souders, Sara Andrews and Marva Jenkins Richards. Also surviving are grandchildren: John, Jason, Carrie, Gina, Dennis Jr., Matthew, Mitchell, and Jordan, great grandchildren: Matthew, Ryan, Rachel, Lily, Benjamin, Layton, Brynlee, Delee, Kirsten, and Jersey, and great-great grandson: Levi. "Aunt Fannie" is also survived by many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. She made each feel special and loved. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Mayhew Brown Funeral Home in Jackson with Pastor Jim Stewart officiating. Calling hours will be held 2 hours prior to the service from 1:00-3:00pm at the funeral home.
