Richard Orland Scurlock

Richard "Dick" Orland Scurlock, 87, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away at his home the morning of November 26th, 2022. He was born February 4th, 1935 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Orland and Kathryn (Landrum) Scurlock. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1952. Dick started his mechanical career early at Scurlock's Garage, also working over 50 years with the Ohio Operating Engineers. Dick was a good neighbor who always lent a helping hand to those in need. He is survived by his wife: Donna (Mose) Scurlock. Children: Robert "Bob" (Tonya) Scurlock, Richard "Rick" (Cheryl) Scurlock, Cindy Long, Suzie Scurlock, Donald Scurlock, Mark (Sabrina) Scurlock, Ronald (Dayna) Scurlock, Karen Scurlock-Davis. Grandchildren: Travis Scurlock, Heather Church, Mellissa Duby, Nicole Scurlock, Kevin Long, Allen Scurlock, Richele (Greg) Farrar, Hayes (Quinn) Griffin, Alicia Scurlock, Claudia (Derrick) Scurlock-Ford, Clarissa (Ronald) Walsh, Kersten Davis, Kendell Davis Great-grandchildren: Kesla & Bella Scurlock, Whitney & Lucy Church, Zennon & Sydnei Duby, Wade & Brent Thompson, Gage, Madyson & Reagan Farrar, Peyton Miller, Oliver Davis, Jasper Ford, and great great-grandchild Jaxon Brown. Dick is survived by his sisters, Louella (Stewart) Jones and Mary Scurlock. Dick is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents as well as Marjorie Egbert-Scurlock, son: Richard "Tony" Anthony Scurlock, sister: Joann Price, brothers: Charles Scurlock and Ralph Egbert. In his later years, Dick accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Jackson First Church of the Nazarene, 251 Powell Drive, Jackson, Ohio 45640 or Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department, 2315 Harrison Road, Jackson, Ohio 45640. The family would like to thank: Adena Hospice, Ellen Bergert, Randy Baker and Ryan Hill of Liberty Township. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Friday, December 2nd, 2022 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Erskine officiating and burial in Fairmount Cemetery will follow.
